Pick your challenge, and
most likely, Chevrolet has a truck for him. General Motors has operated its
fleet of vehicles since 1947 and continues to build a series of heavy-duty
trucks for a wide variety of users and jobs. Some may be dressed so luxuriously
that it would be a shame to get them dirty. Almost all of them are also offered
under different names under the GMC banner. Here's a rundown of the Chevrolet's best 2019 trucks lineup.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
With the new design, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a standard full-size truck. Overall, lightweight,
full of technology and smart engineering, it is more efficient in the process.
Body styles include regular taxis, double taxis, and crew cabs, plus quality,
short and long beds.
Five engines are
available, including a V6 4.3-liter, V8 6.2-liter, V8 5.3-liter, 2.7-liter
inline 4-cylinder, and a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo-diesel. Three
transmissions, including a 10-speed automatic, help the 4WD or 2WD Silverado
reach a maximum tow rating of 12,200 pounds. Trim levels range from the Work
Truck to the High Country Touring.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
The ultimate truck for
work, the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has two high-efficiency drive options and
some of the best trailer technology available today. Choose 464 lb-ft of torque
from a 6.6-liter V8 gas engine or 910 lb-ft of torque with a 6.6-liter Duramax
turbo-diesel engine. When fitted with a gooseneck tow bar, the maximum towing
of 15,400 pounds increases to 18,510 pounds.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD
The Heavier version (1
ton) of the Silverado 2500HD, Silverado 3500HD, is even more powerful, making
it the best truck of 2019. Power is in abundance, thanks to a 401-liter
direct-injection gasoline engine, which produces 401 horsepower or 6.6-liter
Duramax turbo-diesel that produces 910 pound-feet of torque. Equip 3500HD single
or double rear tires. The maximum towing from the trailer hitch is 21,300
pounds and with the gooseneck hitch up to 35,500 pounds.
The 2019 Chevrolet Colorado
The 2019 Chevrolet
Colorado is presented in 5 trims: Base, WT, LT, Z71, and ZR2. There are three
cabin configurations and two-bed lengths. Extended cabs have 6 ft 2 inch long
beds, while crew cab models come with long chest beds or short 5 ft 2-inch box
beds. Colorado also has three engine options: 4-cylinder, V6, and turbo diesel.
Front-wheel drive is standard equipment, and all-wheel drive is available on
all trims except the ZR2 trim, which is standard on AWD.
We recommend the LT trim
for those looking for the best
Chevrolet trucks, which offers several interior upgrades and is
available with all engine and cabin style options. The first two models don't
provide many amenities or features and are best suited for buyers on a budget.
Those buyers who want to get off the road should consider the Z71 and ZR2
versions.
